VANDALIA — Vandalia-Butler City Schools and Treasurer/CFO Eric Beavers are being recognized for excellence in financial reporting. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded Beavers and the district a Certificate of Achievement for the district’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). This year is Beavers’ third and the district’s tenth year for being recognized for this achievement.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Members of an impartial panel who judged the reports say the district’s CAFR met the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the district’s financial story and motive potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
“I am proud and grateful that we have received this award,” said Beavers. “I accept this award on behalf of our District with much gratitude and appreciation because I could not have accomplished this without the support and commitment from my fiscal team, administration and our staff.”
